Follow the Yellow Brick Road !! -- Kraftin' Kimmie

For my 9 month blog candy, please click HERE.

Hi Everyone!!
Hope you are having
a good week so far!!  :) :)
It's hump day ~~ WEDNESDAY!!
My girls have been sick on and off these
past few days so I have been playing nurse
@ home!!! Limited crafty time so I have to be
efficient when I am online!! Thankfully, it seems that
the flu has missed me so far & I am very thankful for that!!

This is my last post as a Krafty Guest for Kraftin' Kimmie
Welcome to another Wonderful Wednesday
challenge and the last one for January!!
Please use a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp
and make whatever your little
heart desires!!  :) :) :)

One of my all time favorite movies is
The Wizard of Oz, so I knew that I wanted
to use one of Kraftin' Kimmie's awesome Oz
stamps before my time as Guest Designer was over.

Here is Dorothy & one of the fab sentiments from the Oz sentiments.

I sang, "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" the whole time I was making my card...LOL!
My girls finally called up to me and said, "Mom, can you please stop singing?!"
I used a brick road embossing folder and added some smooch glitz to
make it as shiny as the yellow brick road in the movie!! :) :)
I also tried some scrunched up seam binding as a bow.
Not sure if I love it, but it was something new.

I used some Xmas Red stickles on her shoes...
so they could be like real Ruby Slippers.  :)

Here's a close-up of Dorothy!!

Lilly Fairy -- Crafty Sentiments Designs

Hi Everyone!!
Please scroll down to see
my recent blog candy winner!!

Welcome to another Tuesday with
Crafty Sentiments Designs!!
It's challenge time!!

Here is the Lilly Fairy and I went with some
bright spring and summer colors instead of pastels!!
I just love bright colors and they always make me happy!!
The weather has been dreary and cold in most places and I think
we need to WELCOME SPRING as early as we can this year!!  :) :) :)

I have colored her up with Copics and Shinhan markers,
& the embellies that I used are: ribbon, a vine die cut
and lots & lots of embossing powders!!!  :) :)
I have really enjoyed mixing them to make
my own custom colors!!  It's so fun!!

Love Is In the Air -- Kraftin' Kimmie

I hope that you are doing well and
are cozy warm somewhere relaxing!!!

I have decided to CASE myself for this card today
because last week I made my most favorite card ever and
it was a BIG HIT!!  YAY!! :) :)  The funny thing is that I had this
card envisioned in my mind even before I made the other one, because
when Kraftin' Kimmie told me the theme on January 1st for this challenge, I
knew right away which stamp and DP I wanted to use for this "up in the air" card.

This week our hostess is TRACY!! And her challenge is called LOVE IS IN THE AIR!!
So create a card, scrapbook page, etc... with a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp & the theme of LOVE!!
We hope you can play along for your chance to WIN some Kraftin' Kimmie rubbah!!!

We've also got our FRUGAL FRIDAY SPECIALS up right NOW!!
Several of our fave stamp sets are on 25-50% OFF for this weekend only!!

Coloring Lush Grass -- Tutorial for All Dressed Up

Hi Everyone!!
I'm over on the ADU blog today
with a quick tutorial on coloring lush grass.

I have used the sweet image called,
"I Love My Puppy"
Lay down a base coat of the lightest
green that you will be using.
In this case, I have used YG11.

Grab another shade of green and make little "W's"
or crowns.  Start at the bottom and flick up toward the image.

Take another shade and make small "V's" over the
"W's" and flick up towards the image

Go back in with a different shade of green and
repeat with the clumps of "W's"

Add in the clumps of "V's" over the "W's" to
continue building the colors.  Keep all of your
strokes as light as you can.

Take your darkest shades at the end and do some
very fine flicks.  From the bottom of the "W's"
and the bottom of the "V's" covering all clumps.

With your darkest color, go over your work
with tiny flicks from the bottom to top
working towards the image.

You will repeat the process a few times to
build up the color.

Making your flicks as thin as possible, add more
color and fill in the grass as desired.

Repeat until you have filled it in and
the grass is lush.

Make some longer strokes from the bottom
to the top closer to the image to hide the clumps.

All of your strokes should have been very light
throughout the process, so there shouldn't
be much bleed through with your paper.

When you are finished, you should have nice
lush grass at the bottom of your image
and you can add more strokes after
you are done coloring the image.

To see this card completed,
please pop back next
week for the full
color view.
